| Q18. |
Why cannot I see all of the image files that
are in the selected folder? |
 |
This may be caused by an unsupported format.
Please check if the file format is supported by Imaging
WorkShop. If the file format is supported but the problem
still exists, it may be that the View Settings option
is enabled and the file format is not selected. If so,
files in the unselected format will not be visible. To
change this, either disable the View Settings, or enable
the View Settings and select all file formats. |

| Q19. |
Why does a question mark(?) appear on the
image thumbnail? |
 |
It may be due to one of the following:
- The file is damaged
- The file type is not supported. Even if the file extension
indicates a supported format, those files with an option
will not be supported. For example, containing a CMYK
channel, containing an additional layer or channel, or
it is a custom format. |
| |

| Q20. |
Why does an exclamation point (!) appear on
the image thumbnail? |
 |
The image file size is outside the range listed
in the Imaging WorkShop specifications. Pictures with
width or height under 100 pixels or over 8,000 pixels
are not supported. |
| |
Top |
| Q21. |
Why do two thumbnails appear for every image
in the browser view? |
 |
Your camera may be set to save a RAW image
file and a JPEG file for each capture.
Tip:
To have only one thumbnail appear for each file, select
View Settings from the View tab and then select either
RAW or JPEG (but not both) for the file format. |

| Q22. |
Why am I having trouble selecting an image
in a frame on a layout preview? |
 |
Try to click in the center of the frame; the
frame should turn blue. If the frame turns orange, you
have selected the frame and not the image. Try to click
closer to the center of the frame. |
| |
Top |
| Q23. |
Why am I having trouble using Move or Edit
with layout frames on a layout preview? |
 |
Moving or editing frames is available only
for the Free mode layout.
- If you are using Template mode or Index mode, try to
change to Free mode.
- If you are using Free mode and still having problems,
there is the possibility that you have selected the image
and not the frame. Try to click near the frame.
When you select the frame, the color should change to
orange. If it turns blue, you have selected the image
and not the frame.
Tips:
- To select images, click in the center of the frame.
The frame color will turn blue.
- To select frames, click near the frame. Selected frames
will turn orange.
- To change the selection from frame to image or from
image to frame, click the Change Selection Type button
located at the top left of the layout preview area. |

| Q24. |
Why doesn't the IPTC information appear in
the information area? |
 |
The file may not have any IPTC information
or the IPTC information was recorded in an area that is
not supported by Imaging WorkShop. Imaging WorkShop can
read and display IPTC information in the area called APP13
of the file. But some applications will use another area
of the file and you may not be able to see this information. |
| |

| Q25. |
Why does it take longer to open files from
a network folder and display them in thumbnail view? |
 |
Imaging WorkShop will read an image file and
create a thumbnail. Thus, bigger files, more files, or
a slower network can delay the display of thumbnails.
Tip1:
In the View menu, you can change the style to [list] to
display file names instead of thumbnails. If you want
to see thumbnails, Open the [Operation] Panel and on the
[Select] tab, click the [Show thumbnail of selected image]
button located beside the file name.
Tip2:
For RAW images, try to change the [RAW image thumbnail
display method] preference settings to [Display Attached
Thumbnail Image]. This settings is located as shown below.
[File] – [Preference] – [Browse tab] – [RAW image thumbnail
display method] |

| Q26. |
What is the difference between the [Layout
Preview] and the [Print Preview]? |
 |
The difference is the [Layout Area Size] being
different from the [Print Paper Size].
The [Layout Area Size] is based on your layout settings
while the [Print Paper Size] is based on the paper size
setting for the printer. The [Print Paper Size] is closer
to the actual print size. |
| |
Top |
| Q27. |
Why are preview images not the same in Layout
Preview as they are in Print Preview? |
 |
This may be caused by the Layout Area size
being different from the Print Paper size.
If you have set the Layout Area size to manual, adjust
the [Layout Area Size] (red under line) and [Print Paper
Size] (green under line) to be the same. Then the Layout
Area Size and Print Paper Size will be about the same.
Tip 1: If you want to print at almost the same size, even
if the [Layout Area Size] and [Print Paper Size] are different,
then set the orientation as [Auto] and the [Print Paper
Size] to [Fit to Paper].
Tip 2: If you want to make the size of the Layout Area
always the same as the Print Paper, select [Same As Paper
Siz] in the Layout Area settings. For some special paper
sizes, the corresponding layout size may not be available.
In this case, set Layout Area size [Manual]. |

| Q28. |
Why does the error message "Memory or hard
disk runs out" while printing? |
 |
Free up more disk space on your Windows hard
disk. During printing, the printer driver or spooler (not
the application) requires more disk space on the Windows
hard disk. Depending on the installed memory and size
of the print data, having at least 1 - 2 GB of free disk
space is recommended.
Check the printing resolution:
In [File] - [Preferences] - [Layout/Print], set [Print]
- [Printer Driver output image resolution] to a lower
value. In general, please use "360 dpi (recommended)".
* This resolution is image output resolution to the printer
driver (not the printer resolution). |

| Q29. |
Why does Photoshop not start when pushing
the [Photoshop] button? |
 |
Please make sure that the supported versions
of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements have been installed.
In [Preferences] - [General] - [Display] - [Photoshop
button startup settings], ensure that the [Specified]
radio button is turned on, and the executable file for
the software that you want to use is specified.
If the problem still exists, the specified software may
not be compatible with the standard interface. |

| Q30. |
Why does the application get slower when opening
a large image file? |
 |
Big image files require a lot of resources
to process. Thus, depending on the processor on our
machine, the process may be slower.
Please try following methods:
- Quit other applications
Quitting other applications will allow the application
to allocate more memory.
- Install additional memory (RAM)
Larger images can require a considerable amount of
memory. If the application cannot allocate enough
memory, the system uses the disk space and this makes
the operation slower. We recommend having 1 GB or
more memory installed when you need to handle large
images (high-resolution, 16-bit images, or RAW images).
- Upgrade to a faster CPU
To properly handle large files, a high-speed CPU is
required. A 2 GHz or higher CPU is recommended.
